AM radio is being phased out in some new cars, particularly electric vehicles.
This is because the electromagnetic interference from electric motors and other components can cause static and noise on AM signals. Broadcasters are concerned that this could lead to a loss of listeners, as AM radio is a popular source of news and information for many people, especially in rural America.
