FRS, GMRS and MURS frequencies and channel numbers
The Federal Communications Commission voted at its May 18, 2017, meeting on major changes to GMRS and FRS, including higher power for FRS and sharing of some GMRS channels with FRS. The new rules went into effect Sept. 28, 2017. These following frequencies are now divided and shared by FRS and GMRS as detailed. MURS frequencies follow FRS and GMRS.
FRS and MURS don’t require a license, GMRS does require a 10-year license that costs $35 without any testing.
